Nova Scotia Health is responsible for primary care, mental health, addictions, lab services, continuing care, and public health programming at Our Health Centre (OHC). While these services operate independently from OHC under Nova Scotia Health's (NSH) direction, we are dedicated to working collaboratively with our partners at NSH.

Primary Care - Chester Community Clinic

To book an appointment with your practitioner, please call 1-902-275-4414. Phones are answered between 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. and 1:00 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Friday.   • Community Mental Health and Addictions includes a team of mental health and addictions professionals who provide services on an outpatient basis.

    • Monday - Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

  • Child and Adolescent Services/Child Youth and Family/Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinical Services provides mental health and addiction services for children and youth.

    • Monday - Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

  • Continuing Care supports people needing home care, community care, and long-term care. 

    • Monday - Friday: 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

  • Requires a referral for blood draws. For specimen drop-offs, you do not need an appointment. (Schedule subject to change)

    • Blood Collection - Thursdays: 7:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

    • Specimen Drop offs - Thursdays: 7:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m.

  • Nicotine Addiction Treatment & supportive counselling services are available by trained Nicotine Addiction Treatment Specialists throughout Nova Scotia for individuals who want to stop their tobacco or nicotine use, most commonly smoking & vaping.

  • The Opioid Recovery Program offers opioid maintenance therapy and programming to individuals with an addiction to opioids.

  • Public Health works with others to understand the health of our communities and acts together to improve health.
